David R. Hawkins , doktor znanosti i doktor medicine (1927. – 2012.), bio je ravnatelj Instituta za duhovna istra živanja i utemeljitelj Puta predane nedualnosti. Stekao je ugled za svoj pionirski rad na polju svijesti, kao autor, predavač, kliničar, liječnik i znanstvenik. Bio je u službi savjetnika Katoličke i Protestantske Crkve te budističkih hramova; gostovao u emisijama vodećih televizijskih i radijskih mreža te držao predavanja širom svijeta uključujući Westminster Abbey, Oxfordski forum, Sveučilište Notre Dame i sveučilište Harvard. Njegov je život bio posvećen uzdizanju čovječanstva sve do smrti 2012.
